After 2 months of using this laptop for office applications, graphics editing, basic animations, video watching, net surfing, chatting, etc... Performance-wise, it's doing very well.
I've tried to play games using this, too. Koko let me borrow his Need For Speed Carbon. It can play well on low resolution (since I'm using IGP) but eats up to 5GB because of Vista. I uninstalled it... after two days. I'm not into games after all. Then Kit gave me Harry Potter PC Game 5. I installed it. Again, it used up to 4GB space on Vista. Playback was very good but I uninstalled it. I'll just install it again after I have reconfigured my lappie.
How about problems I've encountered so far. Well, I had trouble reconnecting to our WiFi back at work. It seems like the router we had back there had some problems with windows vista. At home, we are using Edimax and so far, I haven't encountered any problems with the WiFi connection. Experienced BSOD twice but I can't remember the actual problem with it. Ahhh... I seem to remember experiencing BSOD after upgrading to Vista SP1. It's also after the upgrade that I experienced the
"webcam not connected" error from my built-in webcam. From the research I've done, this is a Vista problem. Even HP's email support can't solve it. I was told to bring this unit to a service center and I'm planning to do that later this week. If they can't solve this, I'll try a reinstall of my OS to see if it'll work again. If not... we'll see. The last problem I have with this is the heat. CPU temperature is quite high. I've already emailed HP support again to see it the figures are quite normal. BTW, I alread performed an undervolt of my unit to lower down the CPU temp.
For the time being, I'll continue to use this... and hopefully receive a fast reply from HP's email support.
