Asus EEE PC or a regular laptop?

I know I've been telling myself I should get a laptop already but haven't gotten round to finding the best 0% deal (and should be available here also). Then I won a Microsoft Vista Ultimate FPP during the Gear Up (conducted by PHIWUG, Microsoft, and StickyMedia Solutions) event held in CDOC early last month. I later found out it contained both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. With a genuine OS (the most complete version of vista) the laptops specs I require has to be more advanced making it more expensive. After much scouting, I found 3 laptop specs (see my previous post) I want for quite affordable prices but only ACER has 0%. The downside is that it's the most expensive of the 3 and has an AMD processor. The last one is my choice but there are no more supplies. Seems like the 2nd option has ran out of stock also based on my mall wanderings. *sigh!* What I found instead was an installment plan for the ASUS EEE PC.

Eee PC 4G

7" Display
Intel CPU & Chipset
Operating System Linux / Windows XP compatible
Ethernet Communication
WLAN
512 MB (DDR2)
4GB SSD
Camera
Hi-Definition audio
Stereo speaker
Microphone
4 Cells: 5200 mAh, 3.5hrs*
0.92 kg

* Actual battery life will depend on actual operations and other settings.

It normally costs 17k but the cheapest I found here was 17,580 at Blinque Tech followed by 18,999 from Thinking Tools. Silicon Valley said it costs 19.8k (order basis) same with Digital Interface (0% 6 mos). Villman's online store sells it for the same price but has 12mos 0% installment. I'm now sorely tempted to get this (esp the white one) after trying the unit available for testing in Digital Interface. TipidPC is cheaper at 17k and has other options (like increased memory and eee pc in other colors at almost the same price to the units sold here) but from where I am, I have to wire the money first and trust the seller. This might be quite expensive for the specs but the portability is worth it. I'm sure my back won't hurt from carrying this ultra-light laptop.

Now I can't decide... should I get this or get a regular laptop? And what do I do with my Vista Ultimate FPP? hmmm... should I sell one of the versions (32/64)?

Looking for Nodame Cantabile Mangas

Ever since I saw the Nodame Cantabile Japanese drama 2-3 months ago, I became so engrossed in it (just like Nodame's other half, Shinichi) I even watched the anime version. After learning that both the live action and the animer version cover up to the 9th volume only (the manga is now up to the 19th volume), I decided to look for Nodame Cantabile manga scans on the Net to know what happens in the Europe part of the story. After much searching, I've finally found up to volume 9 at Goldlily's. Darn! I thought: where are the other volumes?! Finding scans of this series online seemed really hard.

My two volumes... 4 and 8

When I went home, I happened to drop by National Bookstore to wait for my sister. While browsing the magazine section, I noticed that the opposite lane consisted of books for children. Because I have nothing else to do while waiting, I browsed some of the books and was shocked to see a copy of Nodame Cantabile Manga Volume 4. This is the only copy of that manga there. I didn't even realize National Bookstore is selling Japanese mangas. Since I can find copies of it here, I decided to buy the volume and a few weeks later found another volume and that is volume 8. Now, I really want to find the other volumes (in English).

Luckily, I found the OneManga site. It has the NC series up to volume 16 (complete) and volume 17 chapter 95. Waiting can be really a torture especially if one really wants to know what happens next. But hey, I'm not complaining! Hehe... In fact, I have to thank whoever owns that site for the manga scans. I've now downloaded up to 98 and I thought I wouldn't be able to see a new update because of the holidays. Got quite a surprise (XMas treat!) when I checked the site out of habit earlier to see chapter 99. Mukya!!!

Again, thanks so much OneManga! I still have to look for hard copies of the other volumes. I wanna collect!

Christmas grocery shopping is such a gruelling task!

Every Christmas, you'll find malls to be overflowing with people -- especially the grocery sections during holiday seasons. Here in Davao City, I don't normally go to NCCC stores during the holiday seasons because of the throng of people who usually flock there. Alas, we were still short of some grocery items that we have no choice but to buy them yesterday. And it became aparent to me also that my mother now does her grocery shopping in NCCC mall instead of the grocery section of SM City which I prefer. We went there after mass and went out almost three hours later with the two hours spent falling in line to pay our purchases. Geez! I actually thought (while falling in line) that for times like these it's much better to buy in public markets (although they don't accept credit cards).

Some of the pictures of people falling in line are posted above...
