Diana's 10th Death Anniversary

Ack! I almost forgot!!! I just remembered that today happens to be Princess Diana's 10th death anniversary. There will be a memorial service for her in London and tributes across the UK. Her sons will lead readings for her and the royal family will attend -- well, except for Camilla (good to know she's not attending).

I gotta search for more news about this...

Edit: Here's Harry's Tribute in full. I got this from the BBC's website.

"William and I can separate life into two parts. There were those years when we were blessed with the physical presence beside us of both our mother and father.

And then there are the 10 years since our mother's death. When she was alive we completely took for granted her unrivalled love of life, laughter, fun and folly. She was our guardian, friend and protector.

She never once allowed her unfaltering love for us to go unspoken or undemonstrated.

She will always be remembered for her amazing public work. But behind the media glare, to us, just two loving children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world.

We would say that wouldn't we. But we miss her.

She kissed us last thing at night. Her beaming smile greeted us from school. She laughed hysterically and uncontrollably when sharing something silly she might have said or done that day. She encouraged us when we were nervous or unsure.

She - like our father- was determined to provide us with a stable and secure childhood.

To lose a parent so suddenly at such a young age - as others have experienced - is indescribably shocking and sad. It was an event which changed our lives forever, as it must have done for everyone who lost someone that night.

But what is far more important to us now, and into the future, is that we remember our mother as she would have wished to be remembered, as she was - fun-loving, generous, down-to-earth, entirely genuine.

We both think of her every day. We speak about her and laugh together at all the memories.

Put simply, she made us, and so many other people, happy. May this be the way that she is remembered."

English translation of Flavour of Life:

For some reason it's painful when you say "Thank You"
The unbreakable magic after "good bye" is weakly bittersweet
The Flavor of life

Not friends, but not lovers, we're in between
I'm dreaming of the day of the harvest of fresh fruit
Why is it so vexing?

For some reason it's painful when you say "Thank you"
The unbreakable magic after "good bye" is weakly bittersweet
The flavor of life

Words of invitation that are simply sweet are a sensationless poison
My interest is not peaked by things like that
Life isn't something that you throw away
When things don't go your way

When I'm suddenly asked "what's wrong?" is just say "no, nothing"
The smiling face that disappears after "good bye" isn't like me
The more i wish that I want to believe, the more painful it is
It's more like you to say "I like you" more than "I love you"
The flavor of life

When you suddenly remember people you were about to forget
I honestly want to be happy when I think of the whiteness of the snow that builds up

More than diamonds, I want a soft, warm future
I want to spend my limited time with you
For some reason it's painful when you say "Thank you"
The unbreakable magic after "good bye" is weakly bittersweet
The flavor of life

Chaucer's Tag: 8 Facts

Liezel has tagged me. I have to answer this: 8 facts about yourself.

Here are the rules:
1.) In the 8 facts about [name], you share 8 things that your readers don't know about you. At the end, you tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going. Each blogger must post these rules first.

2.) Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

3.) At the end of the post, a blogger needs to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

4.) Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog .

8 Facts About YAMMIE

1) I'm a frustrated architect. I've always wanted to be one and I would've taken this course during college if only the schools I liked offered it. I took up Computer Science instead. Two years later, one of the schools I liked offered this. I was so pissed! I didn't want to shift halfway through my course.

2) I have a huge collection of X-Men cards before. I placed them in albums but now I only have two albums left. Part of my username came from a character in my collection.

3) Remembering names and home address locations (in subdivisions) are my weaknesses. Introduce a person to me once and sure bet I won't remember him/her when I meet hijm/her again. Well, I probably can after I've met them at least 3x. hehe... As for addresses, subdivisions confuse me. I swear... we just transferred to a new subdivision last April and until now I get lost going home. My brother still has to fetch me everytime I go home.

4) Whenever I travel, I always forget at least one item. I mean, I always make a list of things I need to bring. Problem is, I'll only remember I forgot something when I'm already on the road.

5) When I was in grade four, my father gave me a stroller for my bag. Of course, I was so excited since it was the latest fad in school. BTW, I was so small when I was in grade school you'd think I was in grade one instead of grade four. My yaya brings me to school every day and fetches me also. One day, she can't fetch me so I have to go home by myself. Problem was, our room was in the second floor. I have to go down the stairs carrying my bag with the stroller. That was quite a problem for me. A couple of steps down and I fell... down to the last step of the stairs. I stood up immediately and dragged my things out of the way pretending nothing happened. The school nurse came running (the school clinic was right beside the stairs) asking who fell and I pretended I didn't know about it. After that incident, I discarded the stroller.

6) I love computers. This is probably one of the main reasons why my eyesight is so damn bad. When the onset of family computers came to this country, my mom bought us a unit. We played games from the time we wake up (6am) til midnight. I asked my mother what course will teach me how to make games so that I can finally make a game where my bro will not win and she said maybe ComSci. Anyway, when I didn't find an architecture school I liked during 4th year high school career chuchu days, I opted for Computer Science. I was excited! Finally, I'll be making my own games. CS to me meant playing games, creating games, or creating graphics and animations. School started and I have to say I was quite disheartened because we were flooded with lots of Math subjects and if-then-else statements. Sh*t! Instead of the colors I'll be dealing with with games and graphics, I was dealing with the color coding of source codes -- CODES, CODES, and more CODES!!! I finished the course anyway... I have to...

7) I'm an avid Diana (Princess Di) fan! I used to collect magazines and newspaper clippings about her. If no copy is available, I'd photocopy the articles and pics and put them in my handmade Diana scrapbook. I was so touched when a classmate of mine gave me an album containing clippings of Diana articles and pictures for our Christmas exchange gifts. She knows I'm a fanatic!

8) I'm the type of person who has no patience for crafts -- home economics crafts rather. I'm rather quite good with industrial arts crafts. I always get high marks doing IA crafts but with sewing, cooking, cross-stitching -- I suck! I can't even do a straight running stitch. I had a project once (in high school) on cross stitching. I made one with three angels. By the time we have to submit our work, I only managed to finish two angels. Our very kind teacher gave me a passing grade even if it's not finished as long as I promised I'll finish the damn craft. It took four years before that simple project was completed. And I did not even do it... Faye finished it for me. c",)

Well, that's about it.

And now, I'm tagging Rosanna, Josh, Jace, Aldiones, Doodz, Candice, Leah, Ruby
